Dear Parents, July 24, 2017
The Cafeteria Staff would like to welcome you back for a new year!
Our school participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
Breakfast is served every school day, from 7:15 A.M. to 7:55 A.M. for all students.
The preschool will be eating breakfast and lunch with us again this year. Their teacher and instructional aides will be waiting for them in the Little Red School House. They will be eating breakfast in the cafeteria, at 8:00 A.M., immediately following the morning assembly.
Lunch is served from 10:50 A.M. to 12:10 P.M. each school day.
Mrs. Warren’s Class will eat at 10:50 A.M.
Mrs. McLellan’s Class will eat at 11:10 A.M.
Mrs. Greer’s Class will eat at 11:15 A.M.
Ms. Paat’s Class will have a split serve;
3rd Graders will eat at 11:20 A.M.
4th Graders will eat at 11:45 A.M.
Mrs. Nixon and Ms. Reynolds’ Classes will eat at 11:45 A.M.
Children may buy lunch for $2.10 and breakfast for $1.40. Notice the price increases from last year. This is due to a Federal mandate called the lunch equity program. Meals are also available free or at a reduced price. The cost of reduced meals is $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.
If you feel that you qualify for free or reduced meals you must fill out a free/reduced application. A new application must be filled out each school year. If you qualified for help last year you must reapply within 30 days, this means no later than September 4, 2017. Otherwise on September 5, 2017 your child will become full pay for breakfast and lunch.
Note: For new students that have not attended school here before:
Until you have filled out an application and you have been determined and notified by the cafeteria manager that your student is free or reduced you will be considered full pay and have to pay for breakfast and lunch. If you are full pay, this program is pay in advance for lunch, breakfast and snacks. Charges are allowed ONLY if arrangements are made in advance.
We also sell snacks, water and extra milk during morning recess. All snacks and milks meet the Federal nutrition standards, called “Smart Snacks” for calories, sugar, sodium and fat content. Snacks range from $0.50 to $1.50. Ala carte milk & juice are $0.50.
